Teach Love Inspire Wooden Apple Ornament

Teach, Love, Inspire is something our teachers put their heart into and this adorable Teach Love Inspire Teacher Ornament is a perfect gift to start the new school year! Many children are headed back to school or have been in school for a little while. One of mine is in year round school so he has been in school for the last month. My other child is headed back to school in a week! Teachers love gifts, especially ones that are made at home.

Materials:

  • Glowforge or other laser cutting machine.
  • Computer with Laser Cutting Software (Glowforge software is web-based)
  • Teach Love Inspire Apple Ornament SVG
  • Scissors
  • Twine
  • Wooden Beads
  • Wood (I used 1/4″ thick maple)
  • Masking tape

How I made it:

I created the apple file in Illustrator. I’m providing the file for you for free!

I opened the file in the Glowforge software and resized it to the size I wanted it. And then hit print!

I love watching the Glowforge at work. It engraved the words and then cut the design out.

Here is the apple after removing it from the Glowforge and removing the masking tape.

Then I added the twine and the beads, creating the ornament!

I love how this turned out! It can be hung in the classroom, in the rearview mirror of the car or on the Christmas tree!

Add an apple and give it to the teacher you love! It could also be added to a gift.

Teacher Appreciation featuring Expressionery.com

Teachers are an important part of our children’s lives.  They spend just as much time during the day with them as we do, if not more.  They teach them how to read, write and count.  They teach them the days of the week and the rules they should follow.  They read to them and hug them and play with them.   The children really look up to them.

We have been very fortunate this year.  Our youngest son got the same Kindergarten teacher that our oldest son had when he was in Kindergarten.  She has been a wonderful teacher for both of my boys and we truly appreciate her!

Nothing says that you appreciate a teacher like a gift of goodies!   And we love giving gifts, especially to the teachers that are molding our children to be wonderful people.

Expressionery.com has a large variety of gifts for teachers!  One of my favorites being personalized self-inking stamps.  They also have notecards and notepads that are perfect for teacher gifts too.  They are not only great gifts for teachers, they are great gifts for anyone!

I included the Expressionery.com stamp in a basket full of goodies!   Of course, the majority of the items in the gift basket are “Berry” themed or coordinate with my favorite colors!  I even included a bottle of Udderly Smooth lotion, a fun Tervis bottle and a magazine!  You could pretty much include any cute and fun items!

I am loving this All Star Self-inking stamp that I picked out for our favorite teacher.  It’s perfect for labeling things or even stamping classwork and homework!   She can make her own gift tags using it too.  And they last a long time too! grading papers

Udderly Awesome Teacher Gift

Udderly Smooth Cream is Udderly Awesome!  It’s so awesome that it gets used in my house every day!  So, why not give it as a Teacher Appreciation gift?!  Teachers are constantly washing their hands.   I know from experience, too much hand washing leads to extremely dry and cracked hands.  Udderly Smooth helps so much!  I guarantee that teachers would appreciate this as much as we appreciate them!
for the blog
A super cute way to give Udderly Smooth as a Teacher Appreciation gift is to place it in a cellophane bag with some crinkle paper in the bottom and tie it with a bow.   You can add a cute little card like the one I made to give with my gift!
Udderly Awesome Teacher Gift
To make the card, you will need:
a blank white note card
a cute saying printed out
black card stock for the cow spots
scissors
foam adhesive dots
adhesive runner
card
Cut some cow spots out of black card stock.  Use a adhesive runner to adhere the spots to the card.  Print a cute little saying with a border and cut it out.  Use raised foam adhesive dots to give it a little lift.  Add it to the middle of the card!   Voila!

Simple Lemon Sugar Scrub

Lemon Sugar Scrub
I have recently come to love using essential oils.  This Lemon Sugar Scrub that I made was really simple, smells great and makes your skin nice and smooth!  There are lots of recipes out there for different scrubs using essential oils, but I’m sharing how I made mine simply because people make them lots of different ways!

Ingredients:
12 drops of Lemon Essential Oils (I used Young Living)
2 cups of Granulated Sugar
1/2 cup of Coconut Oil (I used Spectrum Organic Coconut Oil)
3 tablespoons of lemon zest

Directions:
Place coconut oil in a microwave safe bowl and melt for 25 seconds.  Add in the lemon zest and the drops of Lemon Essential Oils.  Slowly add in the sugar making sure to mix really well!

I placed my sugar scrub in little mason jars.  I gave them as gifts to my SNAP secret sister and roommates.  I also gave a jar to my son’s teacher for Teacher Appreciation Spa Day!

To use:
Simply rub into your skin and rinse with water!  Your skin will feel nice and smooth and smell nice and lemony!

Teacher Appreciation Gift – Stenciled Monogram Burlap Basket

Teacher Appreciation Week is right around the corner.  We all appreciate the hard work, love and dedication that our teachers put into our children’s education.  Do you need a quick, easy and cute teacher appreciation gift?  This stenciled monogram burlap basket was super simple and quick.

Materials:
Burlap basket (I found mine in the Target $3 section and it’s nice and sturdy)
basket
Tulip Fabric Paint
Sizzix Eclips2
Contact Paper

Directions:

1.  Measure your basket, so that you know how big your letter (and name) can be.

2.  Using the electronic cutting machine software, I chose a font for the letter and name.  In this case, I used the Sure Cuts A Lot software.  And I chose the Bell Font.

3.  Using the Sizzix Eclips2, mat and my contact paper (placed on the mat face up), I cut out the letter and name.

4.  I didn’t want to use the actual letter cutouts, so I pulled up the outlined piece of contact paper and placed it on my burlap basket making sure it was centered.

5.  Using the Tulip Fabric Paint, I colored in the letters like a stencil.

6.  Once I was done with the fabric paint, I pulled up the contact paper stencil and then let it dry!

I think it turned out great!  And I know that my son’s teacher will love it!  Plus, I filled it with goodies for her!
