Thanksgiving is upon us. And I’m feeling really thankful this season. I’m thankful for my family and my friends. I’m thankful for a house to live in, food to put on the table and a bed to sleep in. I’m thankful for a car to drive. I’m thankful for my husband’s job and for my job. I’m thankful for my church and church family. I’m thankful that my children go to a great school. And I’m thankful to be healthy! My list of thankfulness could go on and on and on.
Lately I’m obsessed with banners! I love to make them as much as I love hang them in my house! They are easy to make and you can make them any ways that you want! They can really make a difference in your home, even if it’s just for a little color!
Just recently Sizzix sent me this amazing banner die designed by Lori Whitlock. I used it, along with some of my favorite dies by Laura Kelly, to create this amazing Thankful banner! This banner die might be one of my favorite dies ever!
Sculpey’s Bake Shop Oven-Bake Clay is super fun and easy to work with! And it doesn’t take long to bake and harden! Using clay tools, I rolled out my clay and cut shapes that resembled a few of the aliens that I created with the printable. I rolled out my dots and then put everything together! I didn’t want two aliens that were the same color, so I added some white clay to my green to lighten it up.
Once my aliens were baked, hardened and cooled, I added magnets to the backs using Aleene’s Max Tacky Adhesive. I let the glue dry and then hung my awesome Alien Magnets on the refrigerator!
Hope you like my awesome Alien Magnets inspired by Laura Kelly’s Aliens!

Before we know it, this school year will be ending and it will be Summer time!!!! It’s hard to believe, but it’s true! At our house, we are super excited about our summer vacation and the fun things that we get to do! In honor of the End of the School Year, I made this adorable little “Happy Summer” banner using Laura Kelly’s Peep and Lemonade Alphabet Dies from Sizzix!
My friend Laura Kelly is such a creative lady and she has a great collection of dies with Sizzix. These particular dies are a part of the Ellison Classroom Series. Click the picture below to find the link to where you can get your own.
Alright, now on to how I made this adorable little banner. Using my Sizzix BigShot, Boy and Girl Peep dies, and an extended cutting pad I cut the peeps using different flesh tones. Using bright colors, I cut out all of the different clothes. For the feet, I just cut out part of the legs and cut the feet part off. For the hair of the girls, I just cut out extra heads and then cut the hair off of them.
Once everything was cut out and organized (who was getting what clothes), I used Tombow Liquid Glue to glue all of the parts together. Once they were all dried, I laid them out so that it looked like they were holding hands and then I glued them together.
Once everyone was glued together, I used Laura Kelly’s Lemonade Upper Case and Lower Case Alphabets to add the words “Happy Spring”. Click the photo below to go to the link where you can get your own!
Again, using the Tombow Liquid Glue, I added the letters to each of my peeps. I also added a dot between the words “Happy” and “Summer” just so that one of them wouldn’t be lonely!!!
Once everyone was completely dry, I punched a hole in the first and last hand. Then I tied baker’s twine to each hand so that I could hang it up!
Hope you like my End of the Year – Happy Summer Banner!
Until next time……….

For the last couple of years, my friend Laura Kelly has put together an awesome Popcorn Box Blog Party with a selection of great craft items to help decorate the popcorn box! She has done it again, and with the help of some great companies! These awesome Popcorn Boxes came from World Market!
This year, Scotch donated their Expressions Washi Tape! I thought to myself, why not make a Washi Tape Pumpkin!
Using Krylon spray paint that I had, I spray painted the box to cover up most of the red designs on the popcorn box. The color was not quite orange, but it did the trick.
Once the spray paint was dry, I covered the box in orange wash tape. I didn’t want the lines to be perfect, so I made the tape go in all different ways! It kind of made it look like an orange mummy! Once it was covered, I used an Exacto knife to trim around the scalloped top of the box.
Next, I just tore pieces of black washi tape to make the pumpkin face!
And it was done! Super easy and perfect for a Halloween movie night with some popcorn!

It’s that time of year again! It’s now Fall and the weather is changing. And if you go to your local stores, Halloween displays are out! With the Halloween displays, comes the Candy Corn! Yum! My friend Laura Kelly created a cute little Candy Corn Printable. You can download it for free! And if you make something with it, she’d love to see it!
I love to color by hand, but I also love using the Live Paint Bucket in Adobe Illustrator to color! That’s what I did here with Laura’s printable! I also added a few words on one of the pieces of Candy Corn that I planned to cut out and use for my Candy Corn guessing game! Once the sheet was all colored, I created a “Guesses!” sheet, leaving room at the top to add some of the colored pieces from the sheet. I printed out my colored Candy Corn Printable, cut some pieces out and glued them to my “Guesses!” sheet! Now it’s time for everyone to make their guesses as to how many pieces of Candy Corn are in my mason jar! I can’t wait to find out who gets the closest! I did not count them yet, as I wanted to make a guess too! Hope you like my quick and fun idea of using Laura’s cute Candy Corn Printable!!!
Until next time………

National Watermelon Day is here! I love that Watermelon has its own special day of celebration each year! We will be celebrating at our house! My friend Laura Kelly is an amazing artist and has designed these awesome Wacky Watermelon Printables with some of her adorable watermelon art. I cut them up and used them to decorate my party table! While I was at the store today, I saw that Pillsbury now has a Funfetti Gluten Free Sugar Cookie mix! OMG, they are delicious! How cute are these watermelon cookies?! I baked them, cut the tops off of some to make them look like a watermelon half, and then cut two sides off to make angles for a wedge! Not realizing it, I picked up the Pillbury Sugar Free Vanilla frosting! The kids had no clue and there were no complaints!!! I love how they came out! Using Kunin felts, I made this adorable Watermelon Banner! Click the photo below to see how I made it! Did you see those adorable lollipops in the photo? Those are from Lollipics, with Laura Kelly designs on them. You can get your own with custom designs! They are great for parties , weddings, or gifts! Expressionery.com, Laura Kelly and World Market put together this awesome blog hop to show twenty ways to wrap World Market gifts with World Market wrapping and Expressionery.com personalized self inking stamps with Laura Kelly designs! Read on to see how I used my self-inking Expressionery.com stamp and World Market goodies provided by Laura Kelly, as well as some that I purchased myself! Below is a picture of the goodie box that was delivered by my awesome friend Laura Kelly! After looking at my box of goodies, I made my way over to World Market to see what I could find to help with wrapping my gifts! There was a pouch of bath fizzers and a cute little jar in the box. I put the fizzers in the jar. While I was at World Market, I found an inflatable bath pillow. I thought this combination might make a great teachers gifts. After a long day, she could go home and take a nice relaxing bath. The orange tissue was included in my box, so I bought an adorable World Market gift bag to go with it. Laura also included some pink crinkle paper that i stuck in the bottom of the bag. Also, there were some awesome, sturdy gift tags. Using my Expressionery.com self inking stamp, I made that my personalized gift tag. Placing the pink crinkle paper in the bottom of my bag, I added my jar of bath fizzers and the inflatable bath pillow, inserted my tissue paper, added my personalized gift tag and it was ready to go! I totally love the adorable World Market gift bags! Also included in my box was some World Market coffee, tea and chocolate! During my trip to World Market, I purchased this cute COFFEE mug and some smaller gift bags (these came in a pack of 6).
Like with the bath gift, I did the same with the coffee gift, minus crinkle paper! Laura also provided the bright yellow tissue paper! I finished this gift off with a personalized gift tag too!

Sweets, Sweets, Sweets! I love to bake them and with the help of Expressionery.com, Laura Kelly and The Bakers Party Shop sponsoring this awesome post, I was able to bake and decorate with awesome baking supplies and an adorable personalized self-inking stamp! Getting inspiration from Pinterest, I made a Sunkist flavored cake, using a Betty Crocker box mix and a 12oz Sunkist. My boys love helping me bake, especially when I am using my Kitchenaid Mixer! Ingredients: 1 Box of cake mix (do not add egg, oil, water) 12 oz of Sunkist
Follow instructions on the box for baking. The Bakers Party Shop sent me adorable cupcake liners and mini pie pans. We decided to use them both, creating cupcakes and cupcake pies! I love homemade cream cheese frosting, so I decided to make that and add the Orange Cream Flavoring and Electric Orange gel food coloring to make my frosting taste like and look oranges! Of course, they boys were excited to be able to eat any frosting that wasn’t being used! Recipe: 8oz cream cheese, softened 1 stick of butter, softened 4 cups of powdered sugar Orange Cream Flavoring, to taste Electric Orange gel food coloring, to coloring liking
Mix the cream cheese and butter until smooth. Slowly add the powdered sugar. Once all combined, add in the flavoring and the food coloring. The Bakers Party Shop also sent these beach themed candy molds and these adorable sprinkles! Using vanilla candies, I made candied shells and sea creatures to go on my cupcakes. Summer has begun and it going to fly by. With Benjamin heading into kindergarten on the year-round schedule, the boys only have a few weeks off before the new school year begins in July. We are going to make the most of it and plan to spend as much time being active as possible including hitting the beach and the pool. Both boys have tons of energy and love to be busy and on-the-go.
Sometimes finding things to do with two boys in the summer when the weather is poor or we are stuck in the car can be challenging. Of course they would be fine to play on their tablets but I prefer that we have a balance.
They both love to make stuff and solve puzzles so this little Pirate Games printable from Shop Laura Kelly is awesome.
I am printing and packing them to have ready for the car ride tomorrow.
They are a perfect match to the travel activity bags I made for the boys a while back.
Check that out HERE!
Benjamin saw them and was too excited to wait for the car ride to the beach!
Stay tuned for lots more Shop Laura Kelly printable ideas and fun coming soon.
ShopLauraKelly.com has some of the cutest craft kits put together by one of my best friends, Laura Kelly! One of my favorite kits in the collection is the Button and Felt Heart Garland!
Laura is very creative and has licenses with several companies! The kits that she has put together come with everything you need to put your projects together!
This particular kit includes felt hearts, ribbon, colorful embroidery floss, buttons and a needle.
Instead of using my ribbon to hold the hearts for the banner, I decided to cut the ribbon into 4 inch strips and glued them together to make a little loop using Aleene’s Fast Grab Tacky Glue. I then glued them to the backs of my hearts.
Once they were dried, I turned the hearts over and glued a coordinating color button to the front.
Then, I slid them onto my embroidery floss that I left together to look like a rainbow!
It also makes a great necklace! I love it! So, go on over to ShopLauraKelly.com and check out Laura’s cute little craft kits!
